The Woady Yaloak Historical Society was formed in 1985.
The society researches the area of the former Woady Yaloak goldfields
The general area of interest to the society is area surrounding the mining district of the Woady Yaloak Creek from Haddon to the Devil's Kitchen. Settlements in the district included Bunker's Hill, Sago Hill, Smythe's Creek, Haddon, Nintingbool, Ross Creek, Smythesdale, Canico, Brown's Diggings, Scarsdale, Black Hill, Newtown, Brownsvale, Golden Lake, Italian Gully, Staffordshire Reef, Grand Trunk, Happy Valley and Lucky Woman's
